Image

American Eye Center gifts OFW heroes with a yuletide privilege The Christmas season is all about the spirit of giving. And give is what the American Eye Center, the country’s leading eye care center, will do this Yuletide season. In line with its support of Filipinos working abroad, the American Eye Center is giving eligible OFWs the ultimate gift with its Pamaskong Handog OFW Privilege Card through its Shangri-La and Greenbelt branches. With the OFW Privilege Card, kababayans can now secure eye health for themselves and for their dependents from anywhere in the world through discounts on diagnostics and treatments. “The essence of the holidays is giving back to the community and American Eye Center does so by honoring our beloved OFWs. These modern day Filipino heroes deserve much recognition and we do that by offering quality eye care for them and the rest of their families through our exclusive OFW Privilege Card,” says American Eye Center’s COO Dr. Benjamin Cab...

Misguided Heart

Image
Friday, February 21, 2014 Speaker: Emmanuel Manansala Subject: Feb 21 - Morning Light The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? - Jeremiah 17:9. "WHO CAN UNDERSTAND IT?" Even us can be fooled by our own hearts. In layman's term, we cannot trust ourselves. So who should we trust then? Our friends? Parents? Bosses? Partner? The Bible says, "...the Lord search all hearts and examine SECRET MOTIVES." People are bias and selfish. That's why you and I always have to ask ourselves, "Am I doing this in a pure manner?" or "Am I doing this with a righteous intention?"  Having an idol is a sin. Anything that goes into our lives that takes over God's place is a sin. When we face problems, who do we call first? Do we pray or do we post it on facebook first? Last week, we talked about: "Do I have a doubtful heart?" Now, let's again CHECK OUR HEARTS, "Do I have a mis...

Giving my leftover is over... If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift?   When I saw this question, lots of ideas entered my mind --- feeding program, volunteer for the rescue team, fund raising, or simply donate money, books, clothes, etc. Those are the things that I can certainly do, simple things but would surely make a big difference. Very easy, huh! But, is that what God really asked me to do? Giving the excess? I am a call center employee. In my 27 years of stay here on earth, I can’t count the number of times that I donated for calamity victims or to poor people, or to charitable institutions. I used to give old and unused clothes, groceries out of my extra money, excess cash from my salary. See these words: UNUSED, EXTRA, EXCESS. Poor poor victims. What if we don’t have unused clothes? What if we don’t have extra cash? What if there’s no excess? Do these people deserve leftovers? What if we were on their si...

Doubtful Heart

Friday, February 14, 2014 Speaker: Emmanuel Manansala Subject: Feb 14 - Morning Light Today is a very special day --- it is Morning Light's 1st year anniversary. What a nice Friday, today is also Valentine's day. And AUX Team's Valentine's date, wanna guess? We dated Jesus, or Jesus dated us rather. And this is our perfect date ever! For the past few weeks, Pastor Manny, so as TL Pep have been discussing about characters --- our characters. And I believe that we all have struggles changing our negative traits, don't we? It is true that when we were young, our parents did their best to teach us what is RIGHT and not what is wrong because sin comes out naturally from us --- we were born sinners. If that is the case, how can we be victorious on this? We cannot change our character if we don't have a change of heart. Three things peeps, three things... 1. CHECK your heart 2. FIX your heart 3. PROTECT your heart Let's meditate on one of my most f...

God loves Carlisle

Image
Am very inspired by her story. So I asked for her permission so I can share it with you. I know +mamayuxx   personally, and I always pray for her baby. Take time to read ... 6-month old fetus in Maru's womb "THREE MONTHS MORE, CARLISLE VON PATRICK! :) It was never an accident. And it never crossed my mind to treat you like one of those few things that I regret doing in my whole life. I never treated you as one of those heart-breaking tragedies in my life na kala ko hindi ko kayang lampasan. Ni hindi ko inisip na ipagpalit ka sa kahit anong opportunity na dumating at dadating pa sa buhay ko. Minsan naiisip ko, sana pwede na lang balikan ang mga nangyari noon, para hindi nawala yung mga bagay na dapat meron pa ko ngayon. But for a second thought, kung pwede lang yun, eh di sana wala ka ngayon sa buhay ko. Eh di sana walang mabigat ngayon sa tiyan ko. But that all would worth all the things that I chose to give up makuha ka lang. I would give up every...

Rockstrong for Coby

Image
Kindly take time to read and share .... Thanks! "Dear all, Just to catch you up on what's been happening these past couple of days. Coby was rushed to the hospital at 2:30 am on January 21 due to blood-streaked vomiting. Since his condition makes him prone to excessive bleeding, it was decided then that Coby should be confined for observation. Because of Coby's deteriorating health, all plans to look for a more cost effective solution have been scrapped. There was a small window of opportunity in which Coby can still safely fly and we decided to take it immediately. Since our doctors in Manila have been in contact with SG doctors, it was decided that Coby should go to Singapore today for consultation. As of this writing, Coby and his family are still en route to SG, and we are all eagerly awaiting updates on how their flight went. We are all hoping that it was an uneventful flight and nothing untoward has happened to Coby while in transit. To ...
