Are you under an evil boss? Are you in an evil relationship? Do you have an evil friend? How do you think would you be able to overcome evil things around you? How can we be victorious?
“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 John 5:1-5 NLT)
If we don’t have a relationship with God, we will always be a loser. We have to have confidence that we are connected to Him. But how do we know if we have a relationship with God? Are we confident that we are connected to Him? That we can overcome everything --- even death?
“And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.” (1 John 5:11, 12 NLT) Eternal life is a gift God has given, we just have to accept and stop trying to pay for it by our good works --- because WE CAN”T. We can only have victory over life and death if we have Jesus.
“But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.” (John 1:12, 13 NLT) Every child of God is connected to God in 2 ways: 1. Relationship; 2. Fellowship. Understanding the difference greatly affects our confidence in God. We, becoming the child of God is permanent. God's promise and our relationship with Him is the basis of our confidence in God.
“All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don’t believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don’t believe what God has testified about his Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:10-13 NLT)
“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?” (Romans 8:35 NLT)
“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39 NLT)
“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.” (John 10:28-30 NLT)
When we have the assurance of salvation, we are secured that our fellowship with God is tight. We start to desire His will more and more. This builds confidence, and when our will is in line with God's, whatever we ask of Him will be granted. Whenever we’re in doubt, let’s whisper to our hearts, “NOONE CAN SNATCH US FROM OUR FATHER’S HANDS.”
